Parque das Aves

Parque das Aves

The Parque das Aves (Birds Park) is a paradise in the midst of the lush Atlantic Forest. It is the only institution in the world focused on bird conservation in this rich biome. More than an attraction, it is possible to get to know the work that the Park does to take care of threatened species. There are 16 hectares of restored forest, with native trees planted. In the 1400-meter trail, the visitor takes part in an immersive and enchanting experience watching over 150 species and over 1500 birds.

The attraction's infrastructure is accessible, all the while maintaining maximum contact with nature. The trail is paved, with plants very close to us. There are information totems throughout the park, especially in places where there are birds. There are four immersion nurseries that impress for their proximity to some birds, such as the Viveiro das Araras (Macaw Nursery). Plenty of colors take over this immersive nursery, with the hedgehopping of some birds. At all times it is possible to feel very closely the presence of these animals around us.

Along the way there are restrooms, snack bars, resting places, a restaurant and a souvenir shop. It is important to go with light and comfortable clothing to make the most of this experience. There are two other opportunities to enjoy the Birds Park, one of which is the optional Backstage Experience tour and the other one is the Forest Experience.

Backstage Experience: In addition to the conventional trail, it is possible to take a behind-the-scenes tour of Parque das Aves, getting to know the teams' work in depth, in some restricted areas, establishing closer contact with some birds and participating, in some moments, in their feeding. This tour lasts, on average, 1h30.

Forest Experience: A nightly experience within the forest of the Birds Park. A genuine Guarani tribe welcomes participants, celebrating the visit with dancing, food, and the typical Tobacco ceremonial. After this ritual, everyone sits, talks and tastes traditional Guarani food. It is an immersion in this culture, an experience full of meaning and learning.

Please note that some of these activities have a limited number of participants, require reservation and are subject to confirmation.
