Hiking & Trails
Feel that smell of nature and hear the sound that comes from the woods! Alright, there are times when you will also hear the click of cameras and the narration (in several languages) of cell phone videos trying to capture every detail of the beautiful and exotic fauna and flora of the Iguaçu National Park. On the paths leading to the Falls, you will have contact with many butterflies, birds and coatis. You will also see species of toucans, lizards and monkeys. We know your focus is on seeing the falls. But as you make your way closer to the Falls, look everywhere, up and down and admire the biodiversity.
Trails on the Brazilian side
On the Brazilian side, there is a 1.2 km trail that takes approximately 2 hours. For people who have a mobility problem, the trail can be made as follows: the (adapted) bus makes the first stop (in front of the Belmond Hotel) to get an overview of some falls. Then you can take the bus again and go to the lookout where there is an elevator. From there to the “Devil's Throat”, the highlight of the tour, there are ramps and the entire route is accessible.
Trails on the Argentine side
On the Argentine side, there are three trails: the Lower Circuit is approximately 1.4 km (about 1h30 to go there and almost the entire trail is accessible to people with special needs) and offers a close view of the following falls: “Álvar Núñez”, “Dos Hermanas”, “Bossetti”, “Chico” and “Lanusse”. The Upper Circuit is 1.7 km long (about 1h50 of trail, also accessible almost in all its length), where you can see the falls very close from above. There is still the Devil's Throat Trail, the most recommended, a must see! It is 2.2km long (round trip) and it takes approximately 2h30 to go there. It is fully accessible for people with special needs. Knowing the Falls and not going to the Devil's Throat is unforgivable!
Full Moon Ride
Do you know another experience on the Falls trails that is really cool? The “Full Moon Ride”, which takes place on the Argentine side 5 nights a month. Have you ever imagined seeing the Falls at night? The falls illuminated by moonlight? This is the purpose of the tour. As there are fewer tourists at this time, the sounds of nature are even more evident. It is a beautiful experience! There are days when the droplets of the Falls form a silver rainbow.
